Staying Safe Online

Meeting new people online can be exciting, but it also comes with challenges. Protect yourself by using the app’s built-in free features - for example, voice and video calls - to get to know someone before taking things further.

⚠️ 3 red flags to watch out for:

1. Phone number requests

Asking for your phone number immediately after matching. The app supports free chat and voice/video calls - so ask yourself: why do they need your private phone number?

2. Asking you to move to another app

Requesting that you download a different app (e.g. Telegram) or an obscure app where they may avoid being banned, then insisting you move the conversation there. Be cautious - this can be a tactic to isolate you from safety features.

3. Pressure or coercion

Pressuring you into things you don’t want to do - for example, repeatedly demanding explicit photos after you’ve said “no.” If someone can’t respect your boundaries or privacy, they’re unlikely to respect you in other matters later.

💡 Remember: Trust your instincts. If you wouldn’t feel comfortable introducing someone to your friends or family, it may be too soon to take things to the next level.

Your safety comes first, always.
